Bituminous Tapes

The MIXBUD SBS bituminous tape is used in road engineering to seal construction joints such as:

longitudinal and transverse joints formed while placing asphalt concrete on adjacent lanes,
interfaces created during partial repairs, connecting the existing pavement with the new layer,
joints between different materials (cement concrete, mastic asphalt, asphalt concrete) as well as details such as drains, curbs, manholes, expansion devices, and tracks.

The tape protects joints against water ingress, significantly slowing down degradation. Primers are not required, although at least one joint edge should be laid hot or warm for best adhesion.
